Long time between drinks Yes, it has been a long time since the last bulletin. Its been a crazy 12 months for everyone both in Australia and around the world but its time to get back on track. We have had members in lockdown, many new members joining, one member moved overseas ( but thanks to the flexibility of being an eClub can still participate ) and one member picked up her Australian Citizenship. Even with all of the challenges presented we still held our regular meetings online ( including training meetings and guest speakers ), attended Christmas parties / MUNA / District Conference, continued to be involved with other clubs, fundraised and completed projects both internationally and in Australia all while keeping our sense of humour and supporting each other. How amazing is that! Our two long running projects are focused on Cambodia and Vietnam. In Cambodia our Rotary Club purchases rice, essential hygiene products and pushbikes to enable children to get to school, improving their education. We recently donated funds to built toilet facilities and improve the safety around sleeping areas for vulnerable people in Siem Reap. We hope to make our next club trip to Cambodia later this year. In Vietnam we purchase Vietnamese Health Insurance cards for those who cannot afford them for essential medical care ( see photos below ) and plan on making another purchase in January 2023. These projects directly help those in need and by supporting these projects you will also be helping. Visit our project page for additional information on our two projects. If you would like to donate to these projects or would like further information please contact myself or our club at eclublatitude38@mail.com and of course a big thankyou to all of the people and other clubs who support us in our projects, it is very much appreciated. Here are some photos of the Health Card presentation in Dong Thap, Vietnam in March 2022 Patricia receiving her Australian Citizenship Pres Judy helping the Rotary Club of Orbost celebrate Australia Day Latitude 38 also made up and distributed dignity bags and raised money for Rotary Health.
