Welcome to meeting No. 102 of
the Rotary eClub of Latitude 38
Grace Kim
President's Message
So how was everyone’s week? There was a board meeting the Monday night before last and thanks for those who held it together whilst I had to miss it so I could pick up my husband Paul from his hernia surgery. He has progressed to walking the lounge room at the end of this week so progress is slow but good. This week the club sees the ordering of name badges (thanks Ian) and the drafting of a promotional banner (thanks Grant). These items are all about building the profile of our club. Part of this profile comes through the projects we have and everyone’s contribution to the club and/or their local community. If you are a member without a current role, or project, give me a call on 0418 597 662 or email deanne@dcsi.net.au so we can chat about your passion and find something that fits. There a couple of member waiting for me to call them in the next couple of weeks, which I will follow through on once my family is back on its feet – that is 2 parents back in the ‘taxi’ role and cattle-feeding role.
I look forward to reading this week’s meeting.
Regards,
Deanne S.

- How Co-housing can make us happier and live longer - Loneliness doesn't always stem from being alone. For architect Grace Kim, loneliness is a function of how socially connected we feel to the people around us -- and it's often the result of the homes we live in. She shares an age-old antidote to isolation: cohousing, a way of living where people choose to share space with their neighbours, get to know them, and look after them. Rethink your home and how you live in it with this eye-opening talk.
