Welcome to Meeting No. 136 of the Rotary eClub of Latitude 38

May is Rotary Youth Service Month

President's Message

Welcome to Rotary Youth Service month where we celebrate all that Rotary does in the area of youth. This week we are looking at Rotaract, the service organisation for young people aged between 18 and 30 years. There is more information below.

We were very sorry to lose our friend Bob Crichton last week. Bob was a member of Frankston Club and a dear friend of this club helping us considerably with our Cambodian project in 2016. He was a former resident of Siem Reap and had all the contacts and local knowledge which helped us immensely. Vale Bob.

It's great to see more members engaging with the weekly meeting through the Facebook page. Keep it up!

I hope you all have a good week.

Regards,

Deanne S.

President 2017-18

This week's meeting material

Rotaract Australia

Rotaract is a global organisation that empowers students  and young professionals to create positive change in their local communities and around the world.

Why you should quit social media - Does quitting social media make you an unemployable Luddite? Computer scientist Dr. Cal Newport doesn't think so. In this eye-opening talk, he debunks three objections commonly offered up as rationale for keeping that all-important Facebook account.
