Welcome to Meeting No. 144 of the Rotary eClub of Latitude 38
Presidents Message
We had a good meeting with the District Governor, Janne Speirs last Monday night. She gave us three things to think about: membership, giving to the Rotary Foundation and attendance at the Rotary conference to be held in Melbourne in February next year. There were 11 members present online which is excellent. I hope we can maintain this level of participation for the rest of the year.
By the way you can register for the Rotary Conference at www.rotaryconference.org.au and if you are first time attender the cost will only be $125 not including the Gala Dinner on Saturday night. A Youth Forum will be held at the same time and a Peace Forum on the Friday before the conference. I encourage you to register now.
Brian Norris
President

TEDxManhattan - A garden in my apartment
Britta Riley wanted to grow her own food (in her tiny apartment). So she and her friends developed a system for growing plants in discarded plastic bottles -- researching, testing and tweaking the system using social media, trying many variations at once and quickly arriving at the optimal system. Call it distributed DIY. And the results? Delicious.
Britta Riley ยท Artist, urban farmer. Britta Riley designs and builds urban farms and other participatory artworks that explore the city.
