Welcome to Meeting No. 149 of the Rotary eClub of Latitude 38

President's Message

Last Monday we had a great club fellowship meeting. Cindy Shanahan spoke to us about the work of Neighbourhood Watch. We realised that this organisation is a much broader community organisation than we first thought. Thank you Cindy.

I hope all those who are able have or will register for the multi-district Conference to be held in February next year. The link is rotaryconfenence.org.au.

Have a good week.

President

ODA Siem Reap Cambodia update
I thought our members and friends would be interested to see an update from ODA in Siem Reap where many of us have been involved and have supported ODA. Included in the newsletter is an update on the school that was recently built but also about their Days For Girls education program, definitely worth a read.

September is Literacy Month!
September is recognised across the world in Rotary as Literacy Month. In particular, 8 September is International Literacy Day and celebrated widely, not just by Rotary.

The Literacy - Rotarian Action Group ( www.litrag.org ) has produced a 'flyer' to help the districts. It includes information and challenges - written for your easy use across the district. Literacy Month Flyer
