Rotary Club Project Spotlight - Rotary Club of Yarra Bend

Thanks David R for sharing these posts, much appreciated and great to see the amazing work that Rotary is doing.

After the major earthquake in Nepal, Yarra Bend Rotary ( RC of Yarra Bend Facebook page ) donated $3000 for a water storage facility. This was initially connected to some 300+ houses providing water for many many families. After more work by the town development committee the pipework has been extended to a number of community buildings including the Bright Future Community Centre. Fresh water is crucial to a healthy community and saves the manual carting of water to homes and buildings - work like this makes a huge difference to many in Kopan and our members and friends can be rightly proud.

The Rotary Club of Yarra Bend provides a range of services covering International ServiceYouth Service, Vocational Service and Community Service. Their International Service is focused on Nepal with one project being a Sewing School to help local women to gain skills to asist in generating a small income. The school has become a centre for the production of kits for the Days for Girls Program. Browse through the website and have a look at the range of projects that this club is participating in.
