Welcome to Meeting No. 195 of the Rotary eClub of Latitude 38
This week's meeting material
Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC)
ROMAC provides surgical treatment for children in Australia and New Zealand from developing countries from our Pacific region in the form of life giving and/or dignity restoring surgery not accessible to them in their home country. ROMAC commenced in March 1988 out of the actions of an Australian Rotarian who, with a group of surgeons, visited Lambasa in Fiji. They found the child mortality rate as high as 25% in some places. They quickly identified that lack of medical and surgical facilities and skills for children of the island nations in Oceania, was a major cause.Visit the ROMAC website and their Facebook Page for more information
Rotaract Project - What's all the buzz about bees?
A great project by German Rotaract clubs to help protect wild bees who are responsible for pollinating more than 80% of our crops and wild plants. Read up about their project here. Do we have any bee keepers in our club?
