Welcome to Meeting No. 208 of the Rotary eClub of Latitude 38

This week's meeting material

Act For Kids

Act for Kids is an Australian charity providing free therapy and support services to children and families who have experienced, or are at risk of child abuse and neglect. We have helped thousands of children and families for over 30 years. Act for Kids operates 26 centres with a team of over 350 staff from Adelaide all the way up to the Cape York Peninsula. Our services have expanded to include integrated therapy, support for vulnerable families, special workshops to empower kids and safe houses in remote Aboriginal communities. Visit their Facebook page to discover more about this organisation

Upcoming Project Trips

In November, Janet, Grant and myself will visit Cambodia for a rice drop and to visit Free To Shine and participate in their activity called 'A Mile in Serey’s Shoes '. All are welcome to join us and I will put some more info up in the coming weeks. Donate via our GoFundMe page. Remember just a small donation can make a big change to the lives of the Cambodian children.

In January 2020 I will visit Vietnam to donate funds for SAPP ( Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients ) for the purchase of Vietnamese Health Insurance Cards. If you can make a donation it would be greatly appreciated and will allow me to purchase more cards to assist needy Vietnamese in Ben Tre province. Visit our projects page to see photos and information from my trip early this year.

Social Media Phishing

Being safe online is a topic that we have discussed before so I was interested to see this article from the Rotary Down Under Facebook page about the Rotaract Club of Canberra being targeted by a phishing scam. Read the story here

Polio in the Philippines

An article about a recent outbreak of polio in the Philippines. Read the full story from the WHO website here
