Welcome to Meeting No. 213 of the Rotary eClub of Latitude 38

This week's meeting material

Cambodian Rice drop

A very successful and worthwhile trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia again with Janet, Grant and myself visiting ODA and Free To Shine. Unfortunately I had to get back to Australia but Janet and Grant also visited Grace House. Janet did an amazing job of getting as much value as possible out of the donations we had. A big thank-you again for all of our friends and family who supported this trip. I have put info and photos up on our projects page.

While the photos and stories give you a good idea of the great work we do it is absolutely amazing to meet the children and staff in Siem Reap and see how much of a difference we make to their lives. I am looking forward to the next trip later in 2020 and hope more club members can join us there. I hope everyone has had a chance to look at our Facebook page and please leave a comment.

Upcoming Project Trips

In January 2020 I will visit Vietnam to donate funds for SAPP ( Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients ) for the purchase of Vietnamese Health Insurance Cards. If you can make a donation it would be greatly appreciated and will allow me to purchase more cards to assist needy Vietnamese in Ben Tre province. Visit our projects page to see photos and information from my trip early this year.

Shout Out to a Rotary Club - Rotary Club of Merimbula

Spotted at the Merimbula markets doing breakfast, makes me hungry just thinking about it.

An interesting project they support is MHERV - Men's Health Education Rural Van. Free men's health checks. I have not seen this before. Anyone else come across it? Check out their Facebook page

Social Media Phishing

Being safe online is a topic that we have discussed before so I was interested to see this article from the Rotary Down Under Facebook page about the Rotaract Club of Canberra being targeted by a phishing scam. Read the story here

eSpeaker Series

Amazing talk with Nicky Mih from Free To Shine in Cambodia on the 2nd Sep. Stay tuned for more details on how to watch that session on Youtube and details of our next speaker. Thanks Anthony for your work with putting the eSpeaker series together and thanks Nicky for sharing with us the amazing work that you and your team do. I am looking forward to our next eSpeaker session.
