Welcome to Meeting No. 215 of the Rotary eClub of Latitude 38

This week's meeting material

December is Disease Prevention and Treatment Month.

Just this morning I opened up this page on Rotary Down Under - Easing Disease and Honing Health and the first sentence I read was 'GOOD HEALTH CARE should be everyone’s right. Yet 400 million people in the world can’t afford or don’t have access to basic health care.'  and that struck home with the work we are doing in Vietnam with buying the Vietnam Health Cards. Have a look at our Health Card Project Page to see the work we have done. I would like to thank Rotary Club Batemans Bay for their very generous donation again, second year in a row, towards purchasing health Cards.

Cambodia Rice Drop

Thanks to everyone who has commented on our recent trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Please have a look at the photos on our Projects page and leave a comment on our Facebook page. We have some more photos coming so keep checking back on our project page. For those who missed out on the project update please join us at our next online meeting and we can discuss the project again, how it went and plans for the next trip....YES....planning on going again next year. Cannot keep me away now as I am hooked.

Upcoming Project Trips

In January 2020 I will visit Vietnam to donate funds for SAPP ( Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients ) for the purchase of Vietnamese Health Insurance Cards. If you can make a donation it would be greatly appreciated and will allow me to purchase more cards to assist needy Vietnamese in Ben Tre province. Visit our projects page to see photos and information from my trip early this year.

Social Media Phishing

Being safe online is a topic that we have discussed before so I was interested to see this article from the Rotary Down Under Facebook page about the Rotaract Club of Canberra being targeted by a phishing scam. Read the story here

eSpeaker Series

Amazing talk with Nicky Mih from Free To Shine in Cambodia on the 2nd Sep. Stay tuned for more details on how to watch that session on Youtube and details of our next speaker. Thanks Anthony for your work with putting the eSpeaker series together and thanks Nicky for sharing with us the amazing work that you and your team do. I am looking forward to our next eSpeaker session.
