Welcome to Meeting No. 220 of the Rotary eClub of Latitude 38
This week's meeting material
Bushfire Appeal
Thank you to everyone who has donated and also shared the link to our Bushfire Appeal. Please see details on our GoFundMe page. Please go to our fundraising page and donate if you can. Share the page on your Facebook timeline and email the link to your friends and family to help us support the victims of the bushfires.
School in a Bag
I came across this article about RC Orange Daybreak and their project in Timor-Leste. Seeing we have discussed projects there I thought it interesting. School In A Bag Australia is an exciting concept whereby the Rotary Club of Orange Daybreak organises the provision of school bags and contents including pens, pencils, books, lunch boxes, drink bottles etc. to needy children across the world. Visit their website here and their Facebook page.
Carol's trip to Timor-Leste
Great talk from Carol at the meeting of the 16 Dec. I have updated the details on our Projects Page so please check out this page and comment / ask questions on our Facebook page.
Cambodia Rice Drop
Update. Today I received a lovely email from our friends at Free To Shine in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Fee said that with the extra money we left with them they have now purchased three pushbikes. Fee has also purchased tinned fish and bottles of soy and fish sauce which they will distribute along with the rice we left them to families in need. Thanks for letting us know Fee, much appreciated. Please see the photo on our Facebook page.
Thanks to everyone who has commented on our recent trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Please have a look at the photos on our Projects page and leave a comment on our Facebook page. We have some more photos coming so keep checking back on our project page. For those who missed out on the project update please join us at our next online meeting and we can discuss the project again, how it went and plans for the next trip....YES....planning on going again next year. Cannot keep me away now as I am hooked.
Upcoming Project Trips
In January 2020 I will visit Vietnam to donate funds for SAPP ( Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients ) for the purchase of Vietnamese Health Insurance Cards. If you can make a donation it would be greatly appreciated and will allow me to purchase more cards to assist needy Vietnamese in Ben Tre province. Visit our projects page to see photos and information from my trip early this year.
eSpeaker Series
Amazing talk with Nicky Mih from Free To Shine in Cambodia on the 2nd Sep. Stay tuned for more details on how to watch that session on Youtube and details of our next speaker. Thanks Anthony for your work with putting the eSpeaker series together and thanks Nicky for sharing with us the amazing work that you and your team do. I am looking forward to our next eSpeaker session.
